San Jose, California May 20, 2005
The 10th largest city in the United States and the 3rd largest city in California, San Jose is large both in size (177 square miles) and population (945,000), yet it has managed to avoid a lot of the problems normally associated with large urban areas. The people are generally friendly, outgoing and polite, and the city is clean and peaceful (Safest Big City in America).
