Golden Gate National Recreation Area
The Golden Gate Recreation Area is a 60 mile swath of coastal lands that includes holdings by government agencies and private land owners.

This section of the area was formerly used by the military as a missile site. It is now a protected area teeming with an abundance of natural plant and animal life.

Thousands of cranes, pelicans, hawks, kites, falcons, eagles, vultures, osprey, and harriers make their way through this area each year.
